Welcome to The Gillie Beans FUNd Website!
This website has been created in memory of Gillian May Berthelot who received her angel wings at the age of 8. Gillian passed away in June of 2010 after battling a rare cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. Gillian battled this disease for 13 months with a contagious smile, a brave spirit and zest for life that left us all in awe. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her and she taught us all how to live life and how to have fun!
The Gillie Beans FUNd is a volunteer based tribute fund that raises money for research into Rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer that affects mostly children. All money raised goes into research at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario through the SickKids Foundation. In our first 7 years, The Gillie Beans FUNd has raised over $430,000 for Rhabdoymosarcoma research!! We have been able to contribute to four different research trials which are currently on-going.
We look forward to celebrating the next Gillie Beans FUN Day with everyone on Saturday, May 24, 2025
Check back for updates!
Through this website and our community events we hope to raise awareness of this horrible disease. Most importantly we hope to help fund a cure and improve the quality of life for children with Rhabdomyosarcoma. Please visit our site often for upcoming events and to get to know Gillian and her cancer journey.
Thank you for helping us to make a difference!
